Lunchtime
We are delighted to inform you that we have now gained Health Promoting Schools status, after several term's hard work! As part of the programme we looked at Healthy Eating, which included school meals. We wanted our children to have good quality, healthy and nutritious food, so after much research, we decided to take on our own catering.
All food on the menu is home made where possible, the emphasis being on a good mix of healthy, tasty, nutritionally sound meals using fresh ingredients and local suppliers where possible.
The cost of our new dinners will be £1.50 per day. Our menu for the first half term can be viewed by clicking on the link below.
Menu
If a 'Network Password' box appears, press OK three times and the menu will appear.
Our lunchtime break is from 12.00 noon to 1.15p.m.
At lunch time children may:
• bring a packed lunch
• pay for a school meal
• have a free meal if they are entitled to one
It helps us if payment for school meals is sent in on the first day of the week in a sealed envelope clearly marked with your child's name. Meals are priced at £1.50 a day/£7.50 a week, please make cheques payable to Spring Meadow Infant and Nursery School.
If your child brings a packed lunch please consider healthy options; we do not allow sweets/chocolate sweet bars or fizzy drinks.
Each class has its own dinner lady who helps the children with all aspects of the lunchtime procedure. If you have any concerns about lunchtime you can talk to your child’s class teacher who will liaise with the Mrs Eldridge our Senior Lunchtime Supervisor.
Our lunchtime first aider, Mrs Hardiment, looks after any children who are poorly or who hurt themselves.
