Numbers as labels for counting –

v    saying and using number names in order and in familiar contexts.

v    counting reliably first to 5 and then to 10 objects

v    recognising numerals 1 to 5

Calculating

v    practical activities and discussion, begin to use the vocabulary involved in adding and subtracting.

Shape and Space

v    matching some shapes by recognising similarities

Ordering two or three items by length or height
