Numeracy Objectives:

  • Counting in ones, twos, fives and tens
  • Reading and writing numerals up to 20
  • Addition - beginning to separate a given number of objects into two groups. Relating the addition of number doubles to counting on. Using addition and subtraction in practical activities.
  • Subtraction - remove a smaller number from a larger and find out how many are left.
  • Shape – begin to name solids such as cube, cuboids, pyramid, cone.
  • Use everyday words to describe position.
  • Problem solving - developing mathematical ideas and methods for solving problems involving counting and comparing in role-play or real life situations.
  • Money – begin to understand and use the vocabulary related to money.
